Worm charming involves trying to lure the greatest number of worms to the surface from their one metre square patch of the field but without actually digging it up!

The annual festival was started in 1984 when two locals decided to try it out, it's mad but great fun!!. 'Charming substances' concocted in the hope of bringing worms to the surface include various combinations of water, beer & many other more unusual ingredients...competitors do have to sample their own brew beforehand to prove it's safe for the worms!

Other activities include dancing around the Maypole, a Ram roast & Beer festival, side stalls & street traders.
